Feb '98 Buggy of the Month
Dave Young of Junction City,
Kansas.

It's a '64 pan, with a 1600cc engine.
While I had it apart for the bodywork and paint, I
went through the clutch and brake system, new shocks,
tires, fuel tank, carb, etc. It shifted horribly, and most of
the problem was that the last guy had done a stinker
of a job shortening the shift rail properly. Absence of
the hanger bushing didn't help either. Fixed all that,
and added an Empi Pro-comp shifter for good measure.
The interior got full carpeting, custom stiched side panels,
a new roll bar, and Beard
seats. Future plans call for a hotter engine, but for now,
I think we'll just cruise it as is!
